Based on the critically-acclaimed book by Clifton L. Taulbert, Once Upon A Time When We Were Colored chronicles the author's coming-of-age in the segregated South. In a time when the Klu Klux Klan terrorized the streets and "White Only" were the first words learned by African American children. Clifton was encouraged by the love and kinship of the tightly-knit community to overcome the bigotry and intolerance of the South, allowing him to embark on an extraordinary journey.

Rated PG.
